A proper understanding of the word Rod naturally leads to the correct understanding of the word Nature, in Russian “priroda”, “pri-” meaning “with”. Nature is something that remains with Rod, in other words, with God, under him, under his protection. In addition, the word Nature can be understood as located under something standing, billowing, growing (ord or orthos). The human body is vertical, therefore, mostly representing Rod. The body of animals is horizontal, therefore, closer to Nature. In spiritual terms, Rod is God, the Father, whereas Nature is Goddess, the Mother.
